You decide to let Byron be. Unnoticed, you walk away. “The map can’t be wrong…It has the inquisitorial symbol,” says a voice in the distance. Recognizing them, you quicken your pace to catch up. “The mark should be right here…gah! I can’t see clearly,” someone replies. “Let me lighten the room,” you hear the woman say as you finally reach the doorway. Light emanates from her hand, illuminating the details of the chamber and its occupants.
You have just enough time to see the many hands of the statue on the wall moving, reaching down to try and snatch up her guards. “Look out!” you yell. The men duck just in time, drawing their weapons to defend themselves. The statue frees itself from the recess in the wall and bears down on the group. “This way!” you yell, beckoning and running from the chamber. The group follows not far behind.
